Hi. My name is Rachel Byass. As a Ceramic Teacher it has always been my aim to educate myself to the highest standard, so as to be able to give the best possible teaching and variety of subjects to others.

My passion for pottery started as a hobby and soon turned into a business. Having studied Horticulture and Botanical Drawing at College I went on to paint bisque ceramic surfaces and loved all the techniques available to make it such fun. I studied ceramics with most of the ceramic companies worldwide and gained Teaching Certifications from Mayco, Duncan, Gare Doc Holliday, Hannover, Spectrum, Seely, Deco Art and Jeanette MaCall. I opened my first shop within 6 months of working from a home studio and went on to move three times to a bigger shop each time.

I love to teach and share all my knowledge with others and was able to do this first of all for 12 years as a Duncan Ambassador running full teaching certifications.

I began to travel 10 years ago teaching throughout the USA and Europe as more and more ceramic cafés opened and needed training. I have been very privileged to do a job I love. Working as an Art Director for nearly 4 years for one of the largest ceramic companies in UK and writing their Educational Courses I was able to see that there is still a big need for education and training.

I now work for myself mainly helping others to set up in business. I run courses throughout out the year in the UK as well as overseas. I love to work with the local schools and clubs running full days and "After School" clubs.

If you are thinking of setting up your own ceramic business be it a Mobile, a Ceramic Café or a Soft Play area do give me a call.
